EXPLORE THE PORT TOWN OF ADAMAS

Adamas isn’t your typical port town. It’s got this laid-back vibe, with cozy cafes, little shops, and spots serving up the freshest fish you’ll ever taste—all lined up along the harbor. If you’re planning to explore Milos, this is hands down the best place to base yourself. Everything starts here: boat trips, car rentals, you name it. Adamas just makes things easy.

HOP ON A MILOS BOAT TRIP

Honestly, if you do one thing on Milos, make it a full boat tour. Picture yourself sailing under the sun, diving into sea caves, and seeing the island from the water—there’s just nothing like it. You don’t want to skip this.

SWIM AT THE KLEFTIKO SEA CAVES

Kleftiko is the spot for swimming. To get there, you’ll need to hop on a boat tour, but it’s worth every second. Those crazy rock formations and sea caves? Pirates used to love hiding out here. Now, you just get to swim through them.

MOON BEACH OF MILOS

Locals call it Sarakiniko, but most people know it as Moon Beach. It’s wild—white rocks, no real sand, and the whole place feels like you landed on another planet. Don’t worry, there’s plenty of space to spread out and find your own corner. If you’re feeling brave, there’s even cliff jumping just over the ridge. Try to get there early before everyone else shows up and the heat kicks in. Trust me, this is one of the top things to do on Milos.

HIKE TO PLAKA CASTLE

Plaka sits way up on the island, looking down over everything. At the very top, you’ll find the ruins of an old Venetian castle from the 1200s. The views are unreal—you can pretty much see all of Milos. If you’re chasing the perfect sunset, this is where you want to be.

SEE THE MILOS CATACOMBS

Hidden in the hills around Milos are ancient catacombs that people have slowly uncovered over the years. Turns out, these old tombs are some of the most important in the world, dating all the way back to the 5th century B.C. For just 4 Euros, you can head down into the tunnels and get a real glimpse of early Christian history.

MARVEL AT THE ANCIENT THEATER

Milos is packed with history, and just a short walk from the catacombs you’ll stumble across the Ancient Theater. The place itself is impressive, but the views from here are even better. If you’ve got a couple of hours, pair the theater and the catacombs together—it’s a great way to dive into Milos’ past.

EXPERIENCE KLIMA VILLAGE

If you’ve ever seen a postcard from Milos, chances are it was taken in Klima. The bright, colorful boat garages are impossible to miss. This fishing village has been around for over 3,000 years. These days, a lot of the old two-story houses are vacation rentals, but Klima hasn’t lost any of its charm.

EAT A SEAFOOD LUNCH IN MANDRAKIA

Welcome to Mandrakia, easily one of the most photographed places on Milos. The little bay is dotted with colorful boat sheds, kind of like Klima. It’s also home to Medousa—arguably the best seafood spot on the island. There’s nothing better than kicking back with a long lunch, ocean right in front of you.

DAY TRIP TO KIMILOS FROM MILOS

From the town of Pollonia, it’s a quick and easy boat ride to Kimilos—a nearby island that feels totally untouched compared to Milos. Pollonia itself is a great place to stay, so getting to Kimilos for a day trip is no hassle. If you’re looking for somewhere a bit quieter and less touristy, Kimilos is the move.
